Own the Marina

Boat detailing SEO for every ramp in your service area.

Most detailing work is found the same way: someone stands on a dock, types “boat detailing near me”, and calls one of the first three results. The work of local SEO is being one of those three at every marina you cover.

How detailing gets found

The map pack is the whole game.

For a service that has to physically reach the boat, Google leans almost entirely on proximity, prominence and relevance. That is good news: it means a small shop can outrank a big one inside its own radius.

Proximity

Google weights how close you are to the person searching. One address can only be close to so much — which is why the marinas you name on your site matter so much.

Prominence

Review count, review recency and rating. A steady trickle of fresh reviews beats forty reviews from 2021.

Relevance

Whether your profile and site actually say you do ceramic coating, hull cleaning or bottom paint — in those words.

What we do about it

The ongoing search work

01 Google Business Profile
Categories, services, service area, photos and posts kept current. Most detailing profiles are set up once and never touched, which is most of the opportunity.
02 A page per marina
Real pages for the marinas, ramps and storage yards you actually serve — with what you do there, not a template with the name swapped.
03 Service pages in real language
Separate pages for ceramic coating, oxidation removal, hull cleaning and bottom paint, because people search for the job, not for “detailing”.
04 Review velocity
Relay's automatic review requests keep new reviews arriving every month, which is the prominence signal that actually moves.
05 Monthly content
Written for your service area and your season — what to do before haul-out, what oxidation looks like at year three.
06 Reporting you can read
Calls, direction requests and form fills by source. Not a forty-page PDF of impressions.
Being straight about it

What SEO can't do

Local search is a compounding, months-long process, not a switch. If you need the phone to ring next week, the honest answer is that a better site plus instant lead response will do more for you faster — and both of those are on every plan. SEO is what you add once you're converting the traffic you already get. We’ll tell you which one you need in the teardown.

Questions

Before you book

How long does local SEO take to work?

Google Business Profile improvements can show inside a few weeks. Ranking changes for competitive terms in a busy market are better measured in three to six months. Anyone promising faster than that on a competitive coastline is guessing.

Do I need a physical address to rank?

You need a verified Google Business Profile. Service-area businesses without a storefront can rank perfectly well, but the service area you set and the marinas you name on your site do a lot of the work.

Can I rank in more than one city?

Yes, but it takes a real page per area with genuinely different content, and it is slower the further you get from your verified address. This is what the Own the Marina plan is for.

Is SEO included in the cheaper plans?

The foundations are: fast pages, clean structure, service-area content and your Google profile tied in. Ongoing profile management, monthly content and multi-location builds are the Own the Marina plan.
